A carved Longquan celadon bowl – Song dynasty
The bowl has deep rounded sides with a flared rim. The interior is incised with what looks like cloud pattern and the exterior with vertical stripes. It is covered overall with a thin celadon glaze, except for the base and footring. It is high fired and gives a high clear pitch when tapped with a finger. It was probably made in late northern Song or early southern Song.
Period: Song dynasty - 12th century
Size: Height 6 cm, diameter 11.7 cm
Condition: Good condition, wear consistent with age, small chips to the footring
