A lobed white dish – Northern Song Dynasty

This dish/shallow bowl has gently rounded sides rising from a ring-foot to an elegantly lobed, six-foliate rim. The white hard body is covered in a creamy white glaze. The foot and part of the lower body are unglazed. It was probably produced in Fanchang County, Anhui in Northern Song dynasty. Similar dishes have been excavated in the Kechong kiln, which was the largest kiln site in the area. The kilns in Fanchang county were established in the Five dynasties period and lasted for around 200 years.

Size: Diameter 12.2 cm, height 2.7 cm

Condition: Very good condition, wear/scratches, minor firing flaws, no cracks or repairs
