A Ming blue and white barbed rim Qilin dish – Interregnum period
With a distinctive barbed rim and elegantly fluted inner walls, decorated with a Qilin looking to quarter moon. Borders decorated with flowers and simplified clouds with compartments of Buddhist symbols.
Period: Ming Dynasty, Interregnum period (1436-1464)
Size: Diameter 19.6 cm
Condition: Good condition, wear and firing flaws
Provenance: Swedish private collection assembled in the 1960s. The collector worked as a diplomat in Asia at the time.
