Two blue and white “Long Eliza” dishes – Kangxi Period
Of deep lobed shape, decorated with a central female figure seated next to a lotus flower in a pot. The border made up of cartouches depicting florals and standing female figures. The underside with a scrolling flower pattern and marked with a jade character mark. Similar dishes were found on the Vung Tau shipwreck which sank around 1690.
Period: Kangxi Period (1662-1722)
Size: Diameter 16.8 cm, height 4.1 cm
Condition: Good condition, minor wear and firing flaws, one dish with minor nibbles to the rim and a 2.5 cm hairline (see last photo).
