A Qingbai lidded box with moulded decoration – Yuan Dynasty - SOLD
Of circular domed form, moulded decoration with a central swastika, surrounded by scrolling foliage. Covered inside and out in a white to pale blue glaze except for the lower part and the base. This type of boxes was produced in several Fujian kilns from Southern Song to Yuan dynasties.
Period: Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368)
Size: Diameter 12 cm, height 5.5 cm
Condition: Very good condition, light wear and some firing flaws, some fritting to the edge of the lower part, no cracks or repairs found under UV-light.
Provenance: From an old Bavarian private collection, collected since the 1960s.
