A small Qingbai cupstand – Northern Song Dynasty - SOLD

Thinly potted in the form of a circular tray supported on a high foot that is punctuated underside. It is covered inside and out with a clear glaze of pale bluish tone pooling to an aquamarine colour at the recesses. The base is unglazed revealing the fine white body. Produced in Jiangxi, probably from Hutian kiln.

 

Period: Northern Song Dynasty

Size: Diameter 9.8 cm, height 2.8 cm, weight 57 g

Condition: Expected wear and minor firing flaws, a few chips/nicks to the rim and a small hairline crack going from the rim, approximately 8 mm long, no further cracks or repairs found under UV-light.
