A Qingbai lidded funerary jar – Northern Song Dynasty

With a bulging belly, a long neck tapering inward, and a straight foot. A dragon figure has been applied around the neck. The doomed cover has a flat rim. Covered on the outside in a greyish-green lustrous glaze. It was probably produced in Fujian.

 

Period: Northern Song dynasty (960-1127)

Size: Height 21.5 cm

Condition: Good condition, firing flaws and wear. The cover has been repaired (see photos 17, 18).
