A small white glazed waterpot with green splashes – Tang Dynasty
Made from stoneware and applied with a white slip and clear glaze. The flat base and lower part of the body left unglazed. These creamy white wares are often referred to as Cizhou-type and was produced at various kilns in Northern China.
Period: Tang Dynasty
Size: Height 3 cm, diameter 5.3 cm
Condition: Good condition, expected wear and glaze imperfections from manufacturing, no cracks or repairs found with UV-light.
Provenance: From the collection of Ivan Traugott (1871-1957). Ivan Traugott was a well-known collector of Chinese art, and part of his collection can be found at the National Museum, and the Museum of East Asian Art in Stockholm, Sweden.
