A Longquan celadon twin fish dish – Southern Song/Yuan Dynasty
This dish is potted with shallow rounded sides rising to a flat everted rim, the interior decorated in relief with a pair of scaly fish, and the exterior moulded/carved with lotus petals radiating upward from the foot, the glaze colour is of an olive-green tone.
Period: Southern Song/Yuan Dynasty, probably 13th Century
Size: Diameter 21 cm, height 5 cm
Condition: wear and minor firing flaws, numerous chips to the footring, a repaired damage to the rim with an associated hairline crack (see pictures)
