A pair of blue and white dishes - late Ming dynasty
Rounded sides that rise from a short footrim, decorated in underglaze blue with a garden rock and blossoming chrysanthemum flowers within double circles in the well. Walls are decorated with flowers and insects on the inside, and flower sprays on the outside. There is a hall mark to base.
Period: Ming Dynasty, 17th Century
Size: Diameter 13.5 cm
Condition: Good condition, minor wear, firing irregularities and small fritts, no cracks or repairs found under UV-light.
Provenance: From the Collection of a Swedish Connoisseur of Asian Works of Art. The collector has been actively buying and studying Chinese porcelain since the early 1970’s.
