A Longquan celadon dish – Ming Dynasty

The dish is nicely shaped with a lotus spray moulded in the center. It is fully glazed in an olive-green tone, except for a ring on the base where the light grey body has turned brown during firing.


Period: Early Ming Dynasty, 15th Century.

Size: Dia. 24.3 cm, height. 4.7 cm

Condition: Good condition, wear consistent with age, some grit/sand adhesion on outer body, a few chips to the footring. Nice high pitch when tapped with a finger.
