A blue and white “Kraak” bottle vase – Ming Dynasty

Of pear form with a slender waisted neck and garlic mouth, decorated in underglaze blue. The body is divided into six large panels, each painted with a flowering branch alternating with deer, divided by blue lines, all beneath a band of ruyi-heads. The neck is decorated with beaded pendants and hanging tassels.

 

Period: Ming dynasty, Wanli period (1572-1620)

Size: Height 24 cm

Condition: Good condition wear and firing defects, the top rim has been restored and has a short associated hairline crack
