A green glazed mingqi tripod vessel – Han Dynasty
This vessel is moulded in imitation of an archaic bronze shape. The body has a deep basin with three solid legs, with a horizontal flange all around. It is fully glazed on the exterior whereas the interior is unglazed. Glaze has developed iridescence due to long time burial.
Period: Han dynasty (206 BCE-220 CE)
Size: Diameter 20 cm, height 13.5 cm
Condition: Burial ware, glaze in good condition. No repairs found under UV-light.
Provenance: From the collection of a German scholar, assembled between 1961 and 1966
