A Jun handled jar - Jin/Yuan Dynasty

The jar is potted with a globular body and two strap handles flanking the short and straight cylindrical neck. It is raised on a short straight foot. It is applied with a sky-blue glaze, thinning to a mushroom tone on the handles and rim, and stops above the foot and the base inside the jar, revealing the biscuit body.


Period: Jin-Yuan Dynasty (1115-1368)

Size: Height 11.8 cm, diameter of mouth 10.7 cm

Condition: Very good condition, wear consistent with age and use, firing flaws and impurities to the glaze. No cracks or repairs.

Provenance: Earlier in the collection of Stig Bojling, Sweden, amassed during the 1960s-1990s.
