A large Longquan celadon “Trigram” censer – Ming Dynasty
The censer has a bulbous body raised on three feet issuing from animal masks. The exterior is moulded with the eight trigrams and incised with a wave pattern above and below the trigrams pattern. Covered with an attractive celadon glaze of sea green colour, except for the base and the center of the interior.
Period: Ming Dynasty, 15th-16th Century.
Size: Dia. 32 cm, height. 12 cm
Condition: Good condition, some firing impurities and wear consistent with age, shallow chip to the base, extensive glaze lines.
