A Longquan celadon lotus dish – Southern Song Dynasty
The shallow flared sides rising from a short foot, carved on the exterior with a band of upright petals. It is covered inside and out with a thick translucent sea-green glaze except for the foot rim which is unglazed, revealing the light-gray body. The mouth mounted with a metal rim.
Period: Southern Song dynasty (1127-1279)
Size: Diameter 16 cm, height 4.7 cm
Condition: Good condition, surface wear, some glaze crackling, repair to inner rim ca 1.7 x 0.7 cm. No further repairs or cracks found under UV-light.
