A Qingbai hexagonally lobed cosmetic box – Song Dynasty

Of six-foliate form moulded with feathery leaves on the cover. It is covered overall in a pale blue glaze, expect for the base, rims and part of the inside of the lid.

 

Period: Song dynasty (960-1279)

Size: Diameter 8.5 cm, height 4 cm

Condition: Good condition, surface wear and some glaze crackling, a few chips to the inside rim, a star-shaped crack (not protruding to the outer base)) on the inside bottom. No repairs or cracks found under UV-light.
