A white Ding-type large bowl – 10th Century - SOLD
The bowl has rounded sides rising from a short foot. It is meant to have the shape of a flower with five petals, suggested by the rim having five subtle contour carvings. It is covered overall with a transparent glaze stopping short of the foot and the base is also unglazed. The body is thinly potted with a hard white paste. It rings with a high clear tone for 6-7 seconds when tapped.
